The day I realised that learning wasn’t something that ended once my studies did was a very liberating moment. No matter your age, status, or profession, inviting and accepting the idea that we are students of life means that our sense of curiosity is kept alive and thriving. I’ve found that the more I learn about myself–what my core values are, the kind of rest I need, where I draw energy from, the music I love–the more equipped I feel to live a life that is authentic to who I am.

intogreat offers workshops that focus on various topics and ways of learning:

  • We offer paid-for workshops that start from £30. These workshops typically take place once a month. Expect workshops on topics such as how to effectively use your voice, overcoming body issues, burnout, conscious parenting, dealing with grief and loss, financial management and more.
  • We understand that paying a set fee for workshops isn’t possible for everyone and to ensure that learning is always accessible, we also offer pay-what-you-can workshops where you can contribute an amount that is affordable for you at the time. These workshops focus on wellbeing as a way of living, are 30-minutes in duration, and take place online every Sunday.

All our upcoming workshops can be found here. If you’re new to workshops or have attended events in the past but aren’t sure if they were for you, keep reading for some of my tips on how to make intogreat’s workshops, work for you:

Try what you know

Sign up for workshops that you know align to your values or is an area you are interested in exploring further. There is always something new to be learned, even in an area that we might already be familiar with.

And, what you don’t

There comes a time in our lives when we decide something just “isn’t for us” and in some cases that’s true. But, sometimes we need to stop and ask ourselves why. From experience I’ve realised that it often stems from outdated beliefs I’ve carried with me from previous conditioning or a conscious/unconscious judgment I’ve held onto. Rather than deciding not to participate, try something once (stepping outside of your comfort zone is always a good opportunity for growth) and if you still don’t resonate with it, then at least you’ll know for sure.

Block the time off

A workshop isn’t like listening to a podcast or an audiobook where you can be engaged in another task like cooking or walking–it requires your full attention. Set time aside where you can be still and absorb the knowledge shared.

Take notes

Have your pen and paper handy to jot down nuggets of wisdom or a question you’d like to ask later. Write down your key takeaways and what resonated with you and what didn’t. According to research, this helps form new pathways in your brain and allows your brain to retain the information a lot longer.

Don’t be afraid to participate

Usually, when I attend workshops, I prefer to refrain from drawing too much attention to myself and tend to quietly let everything sink in. Each workshop hosted by intogreat is a safe space. Please know that you are free to express yourself, and participate in a way that best works for you, whilst being respectful of the other participants. We each have our own story and perspective to offer, making for a richer, more diverse discussion. If you have questions or a story to share, please don’t be afraid to raise your hand and contribute. We learn from a multitude of different perspectives and learned experiences, and each contribution is always received with gratitude and kindness. If you’d prefer not to speak, pop your questions into the chat, and the facilitator will answer your question; if not not during the workshop, definitely afterwards.

Explore further

If something was mentioned in the discussion that really stuck with you, explore it further by watching our YouTube videos or reading a book that focuses on the specific topic–it may open a whole new world you haven’t yet been exposed to.

That’s it from me. I hope to see you in the next workshop.
